Is A Civil War Coming? One Arizona Couple Thinks So

Tensions have been rising across America for years now. Our population keeps getting more and more divided over anything: race, class, gender, political affiliation, etc.

It stands to reason that, eventually, the pot will boil over, and we'll be thrown into some kind of second American Civil War. This seems like a far off fantasy for many, but one Arizona couple seems to know what's coming.

How Do You Start a Civil War?

You'd have to ask Lake Havasu residents Mary and Fred Blakley. It all started when Mary sold an ultrasound machine, one of her own. She claimed she had experience in hospitals from Sweden to Texas, and had received a PhD in Vascular Physics in her younger years.

Turns out, this was all fabricated. She'd worked briefly as a medical provider all across the southwest, and sold unapproved medications to people who claimed they needed help. Through these scams, the Blakleys had come up with millions, and that money was about to go somewhere very dangerous.

Forcing the Pot to Boil

The Blakleys wanted war. It's obvious from transcripts detailing their activities, they were building a private militia. The two were barred from owning guns after they each spent nearly four years in prison under drug charges in the late '90s.

So what did they do? They worked around it. Fred built a workshop on his pastor's property, and got to work collecting, building, and modifying any firearms he could get his hands on. All in all, the couple had amassed 30 guns and 30,000 round of ammunition for the sole purpose of "shooting some humans" (Fred's exact words).

MARY: Yeah, him and Pastor have been making guns

MARY: Thousands of guns. We’re arming – arming Arizona.

Recordings taken by undercover officers between 2022 and 2025 reveal the couple was planning on starting a civil war, and arming Arizonans for it.

FRED: Oh so they must be part of the Democratic party too.[all four participants laugh]

UCE: You got a rifle for that?

FRED: Yeah, I got a ri-I have a-every-every bullet I have has a ‘D” on it[OV]

UCE: That fly riffle, I would shoot the flies, yeah[all four participants laugh]

UCE: Now I gotta get mine to

FRED: You talking about a worthless bunch of oh-oh

UCE: Yeah, I have the same

FRED: And I-I-I woke up one night and it kinda, just woke up startled cause uh the dream I was having was I had my fully automatic weapon and I was unloading on their asses...

The Blakleys are currently awaiting trail for mail, wire fraud, and conspiracy on April 16th in Philadelphia. They could face up to 165 years in prison if convicted.
