I've had my share of bad vacations. Whether it was the friend group getting inexplicably mad at each other three days in, or a tropical storm ruining a beach trip, you sometimes can't avoid the things life throws at you.

Luckily, these are all minor details, smoothed over in the days after return. Some problems, however, can't be forgotten that easily, and one group of Arizona tourists found that out the hard way.

Getting Booked For Vacation

This fiasco all started when three men decided to fly from Maryland to Phoenix for a mutual friend's baby shower. When the three landed, they rented a car off of Turo, a car rental app, and started making their way to the AirBnB.

As they were passing through Glendale, police lights suddenly enveloped the car. The three men were immediately taken out of the car, placed in handcuffs, and brought to cruisers. The car they were driving was stolen, and they were the suspects.

How Did They Steal The Car?

Here's the kicker: they didn't. When the men were brought in for questioning, they continually told officers they had no idea the car was stolen, and that they'd rented it off of the Turo App. So if they didn't steal it, why was it registered as stolen?

Luckily, Turo soon released an explanation. The car the men were driving was reported stolen by the previous host, but after the car was recovered, it was not removed from the Police's database.

After everything was cleared up, the officers brought the men to their AirBNB, and Turo offered them a full refund.
