The Fourth of July is right around the corner! For most, it's a time to celebrate our independence with barbeques, fireworks, and block parties.

For those of us in the Grand Canyon State, however, Independence Day celebrations can get a bit... wacky. So here's the most unique Arizona Fourth of July celebrations!

Northern Arizona

For those up north, there's plenty of weird and unique celebrations on the Fourth. One of the most notable is the Oatman Egg Frying Challenge, where contestants race against the clock to see who can fry an egg the fastest. Here's the catch: it must be done on a sidewalk with only the sun to help you.

Up in Prescott, the World's Largest Outdoor Rodeo kicks off Independence weekend, with barrel riding, bull roping, and a massive parade to celebrate almost 250 years of American freedom. Stick around for live music, local vendors, and and a party like no other!

Southern Arizona

Closer down to the border, there's no shortage of festivals, parties, and events, but Cochise County has the market cornered. The Pets and People Promenade in Sierra Vista is a must-visit, as owners and their pets dress up in their best patriotic attire and parade down the streets of downtown Sierra Vista.

Go just 30 minutes south and you'll find yourself in the wonderfully quaint town of Bisbee, who put on the state's most intense coaster race. Families work year-round on these boxcars, before racing them down the steep mountain slopes for a chance at fame and glory!
