My daughter and I have a fun tradition. We send each other out-of-context snippets of conversations we hear as we go about our day.

Once, when my daughter was shopping, she overheard a mom say something to her kid. "Johnny, no. You can't wear ketchup on your head. It's just bad manners."

You see? It's just a random non-sequitur. If she had been privy to the entire conversation, it might have made more sense, but that little quip, not so much.

Overheard in Sierra Vista

I've lived in Sierra Vista a long time, so I'm pretty familiar with how we see ourselves here in our little corner of Cochise County. We talk about some things so often that they've become a joke.

Other users pointed out that it might just be the Facebook Effect, and may only seem like there it happens more often because people post pictures of the crashes all the time now.

There's Nothing for Kids to Do in Sierra Vista

Frankie pointed out that there are a lot of people in the community who would like to keep Sierra Vista a sleepy retirement community.

She said, "Guess all the young adults with kids and military and Border Patrol families didn't get the memo." Exactly, Frankie. I've heard this often; maybe it's time for a change.

Charlotte hears people say,

"They're building ANOTHER Dollar General?!"

Yeah, they seem to spring up overnight. When is too many...TOO MANY?

Several of our users noticed that we also have a ton of tattoo and vape shops around town. Despite that, new ones seem to spring up every day.
