For the First Time in Over a Year, Sierra Vista Burger King Finally Reopens
Burger King Reopens in Sierra Vista
We're fortunate in Arizona that we don't often experience bad weather, at least not very often. However, when the monsoons settle in, sometimes they bring some unwelcome surprises.
That's what happened to one of Sierra Vista's eateries last year. The Burger King at 415 Highway 90 Bypass experienced an unexpected disaster when the roof caved in after a hefty rainstorm.
The new owners announced this week that the restaurant has finally reopened. Anyone missing their flame-broiled burgers can rest easy because the store has returned to business.
When Did the Sierra Vista Burger King Close?
In a small-ish town like Sierra Vista, where we have one Walmart and one Target, each business, large or small, impacts our local economy in a much bigger way than bigger cities like Tucson and Phoenix.
When Sierra Vista's singular Burger King closed last year, people noticed. Whether you're a fan of the food or not, the loss of jobs and one less restaurant did not go unnoticed.

The building had been boarded up since the roof caved in last year, and kitchen racks barricaded the parking lot. It’s not every day you see kitchen equipment moonlighting as security guards.
Last fall, Cochise County recorded a change of ownership of the Burger King location, and a few months ago, there finally seemed to be some movement toward reconstructing the site.

The store reopened for business this week. YouTube User @Mark Hays posted the announcement on his YouTube channel.
The new owners say they have all new equipment, technology, and an upgraded dining room. Owner Eric Dryer said, "It's been a long time coming, and we're excited to serve people."
So, if you've been missing your Whopper or chicken fries, you can get them once again in Sierra Vista.
