Our Fantastic (and Simple) Holiday Tipping Guide for Arizona
There's something about the holidays that really brings out our generous spirit. It's a nice time to revel in our blessings - and to let the people in our lives know how much they mean to us throughout the year.
The Eternal Question: How Much Should You Tip?
I've learned how to do what I call "General Tip Math." When I'm at a restaurant or a bar, I look at the before-tax total on my bill, then move the decimal point back two places. Then I double the amount. That works out to twenty percent, and for good service, that's where I begin.
I add on from there based on excellent and exceptional service. Figuring out how much to tip waitstaff is a simple no-brainer for me, and when I can, I try to tip more around the holidays.
But how much should you tip the other service providers in your life? During the Christmas and Hanukkah holidays, a lot of us want to add something extra - whether it's a tip or a gift - for the people who our lives a little easier.

Tipping is clear in cases of your dog groomer or hairdresser. Adding a little extra for the holidays is a nice gesture.
But what about your mail carrier or trash collector? Figuring out how much to share with the essential folks in our lives can be difficult if there is no bill to consider as a rule of thumb.

We've put together a handy guide to make tipping a little easier. Most on this list don't expect a tip, and for some, like your mail carrier or package delivery person, be sure to check with your local office to be sure you're not putting them in an awkward position.
