Meet two special dogs from The Nancy J Brua Animal Care Center this week.

Meet Izzy: Special Needs for a Special Pooch

The [animal] shelter is looking for a foster [care family] for this little girl. Izzy had hip surgery recently and will need another surgery in several more weeks. The shelter will provide everything needed such as food, blankets, etc. The ideal foster home would be some place quiet with very little activity. Izzy needs to be crated at all times, and only outside to potty.

Since Izzy is recovering from surgery and will be preparing to have surgery on her other hip soon, they're looking for a special individual or family who can care for Izzy while she recovers.

How You Can Help

If you or someone you know has the time and patience to care for Izzy, please contact the Nancy J Brua Animal Care Center at (520) 458-4151. They are happy to give you complete details on what Izzy's care will entail.

Meet Archer the Puppy

Archer was found running around the Home Depot area as a stray, and taken into the care of the Nancy J Brua Animal Care Center recently. A call went out to the community to try to locate the owner, but since no one came forward, he's available for adoption.

Archer was a guest on Val in the Morning on Thursday's Pawsday segment. Archer is a Catahoula Cattle Dog and is estimated to be around 5 to 6 months old.
ACO Tammy Gould-Berry told me, "It doesn't seem that Archer was exposed to a lot of different things before he was found. Everything seems to be new to him."

Friendly and Eager to Learn

In spite of that, Archer is curious and friendly, and eager to learn. Walking on a leash is new to him, but he'll get some practice at the shelter and will be mastering that skill and many others in no time.
